Terms

Terms & Conditions of booking

The following terms and conditions apply to all orders for the purchase of services from London First Aid Training.

Definitions

"Personal data" shall have the meaning set out in the Data Protection Act 1998;

"Service(s)" means the course(s) (first aid, Health and Safety, Care courses) offered by London First Aid Training.

"We/Us/Our" means the London First Aid Training.

"You" means the purchaser of services from London First Aid Training.

Payment

Full payment is required before the course start date to confirm bookings.

Bookings and Cancellations

The following terms regarding bookings and cancellations apply regardless of when the booking was made: ie very close to the course date or well beforehand.

Cancellations (individual bookings)

Cancellations of individual bookings (for courses held at our venue):

  • If the course is cancelled more than 7 days before the course date, there is no cancellation fee;
  • If the course is transferred 7 days or less before the course date, the cancellation fee is 25% of the course fee.

Transfers (individual bookings)

Transfers of individual bookings (for courses held at our venue):

  • If the course is transferred more than 7 days before the course date, there is no transfer fee;
  • If the course is transferred 7 days or less before the course date, the transfer fee is 25% of the course fee.

Transfers and Cancellations

(Group course held at client’s venue)

  • The group booking must be paid for before the course date is confirmed;
  • If one or more attendees can't make it to the course, no free transfer is available;
  • If one or more attendees can't make it to the course, regardless of when the notification is received, it is the responsibility of the organiser to find a replacement for that attendee;
  • The client may send a replacement candidate is one or more can’t make it to the course;
  • If the group booking is transferred more than 7 days before the course date, there is no transfer fee;
  • If the group booking is transferred 7 days or less before the course date, the transfer fee is 25% of the course fee;
  • If the group booking is cancelled more than 7 days before the course date, there is no cancellation fee;
  • If the group booking is cancelled 7 days or less before the course date, the cancellation fee is 25% of the course fee;
  • Bookings cancelled 2 days before the course date is payable in full;
  • All of the above applies regardless of when the booking was made: ie very close to the course date or well beforehand.

Transfers and Cancellations

(Group booking for courses held at our venue)

  • All or a few at a time may attend scheduled courses as published on our website;
  • All places paid for must be used within 12 months. Any place not used after 12 months will be forfeit and non-refundable;
  • The group booking must be paid for before bookings start;
  • Places that are reserved count towards the booking even if candidates do not turn up on the day for whatever reason (be it sickness, industrial action or any other event);
  • A booking can be cancelled or transferred at least 7 days before the course date, otherwise it counts towards the booking;
  • Places cancelled at the last minute is chargeable unless a replacement is found;
  • The client may send a replacement candidate;
  • Should a replacement candidate be found, by the client or through our website, the cancelled place will not be chargeable.
  • All of the above applies regardless of when the booking was made: ie very close to the course date or well beforehand.

Communication Skills

  • The course is in English. Learners should possess communication skills sufficient to allow them to address the assessment requirements of the qualification. In order to complete the theoretical assessment for First Aid courses, learners need to be proficient in English.
  • Use of translators is not allowed on the course.

Reduced fee/Promotions:

A candidate who has booked a course paying a considerably reduced fee through promotional campaigns will not be eligible for a free transfer or a partial or full refund if he/she fails to attend or cancels regardless of when the notice to cancel or transfer was received.

Multiple-day courses:

The following applies to multiple-day courses such as the two-day Paediatric First Aid course, 3-day First Aid at Work (FAW) or the two-day FAW Requalification course and any other multiple-day courses not mentioned here:

  • The London First Aid Training Company are unable to issue certificates to learners who have not attended the required number of days.
  • In the event a candidate is unable to attend the subsequent day(s) of the course, the full course fee will apply if he/she wishes to join another course.
  • If it is possible, the learner may be offered to attend missed days on future courses scheduled within one month of the original course date for a fee of 75% of the full course fee.

Certificates

All regulated certificates will always have an Ofqual logo on.

A regulated certificate is issued by an Awarding Body. Recognised Awarding Bodies are registered with the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). Ofqual regulates qualifications, examinations and assessments in England. Ofqual is a non-ministerial department of the government. (https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/ofqual).

Certificates are normally issued in pdf format and emailed to the learner up to 3 days after successful completion of the course.

Right of Admission

We reserve the right to refuse admission to any candidate who arrives after the course has started or those exhibiting unruly or anti-social behaviour to either its staff or other trainees. Any such incident will result in the immediate removal of the offending party.

Course Timings & Attendance

Candidates must adhere to timings as stipulated on the course joining instructions. Failure to attend and participate in any part of the course will result in the candidate's removal from the final examination (where applicable).

Fitness to Attend

Attendees on any of the First Aid courses must be free from any ailment, condition or injury that will affect their ability to participate in practical and theory assessments. We will not be able to issue a regulated certificate if not all requirements are met, ie inability to demonstrate the practical skills required of the course or not attaining a passing mark on the written test (where applicable).

First Aid at Work Requalification

Candidates placed on the First Aid at Work Requalification course must be in possession of a valid FAW regulated certificate.

Blended courses

A blended course is part online and part classroom. You cannot attend the blended classroom course unless you are able to present your certificate for the corresponding online course (downloadable once the course is completed).

Force Majeure:

The London First Aid Training Company cannot be held responsible for any incident or occurrence outside its control that affects the provision of any given course date, course forecast, course content or course timing, and/or including cancellation, amendment or re-scheduling. Where a course content or course timing has to be amended/cancelled/re-scheduled for whatever reason, The London First Aid Training Company will make every reasonable effort to make alternative arrangements.
